Production

Small batch. Made to order.

We don't carry inventory. Every Hunter Time Co watch is built to order in small batches at our workshop in Queensland's Scenic Rim. It means you get a watch that's been touched by human hands at every stage — and it means there's a wait.

01

Order Placed

Once you complete checkout you'll receive a confirmation email. Your order is queued for the next production batch.

02

Production · 4–6 Weeks

Cases, dials and movements are sourced and quality-checked. Each watch is hand-assembled, regulated and pressure-tested in our Scenic Rim workshop.

03

Final QC & Dispatch

Before it ships, every watch is tested on a timegrapher to verify rate, amplitude and beat error, and wet-tested to its rated water resistance. You'll receive a tracking number when it leaves the bench.

Using Your Watch

Setting up your NH35.

Both the Apex Hunter and The Cordeaux run on the Seiko NH35 automatic — a self-winding mechanical movement powered by the motion of your wrist. Here's how to set it up, keep it running, and treat it well.

Step 1

Wake It Up

If your watch hasn't been worn, the rotor needs a kick to start. Unscrew the crown until it's loose, then turn it clockwise 20–30 times to hand-wind the mainspring. The seconds hand will start sweeping.

Step 2

Set the Date

With the crown unscrewed, pull it out one click to the first position. Turn clockwise to advance the date. Stop the day before today's date — you'll set the final day in the next step.

Step 3

Set the Time

Pull the crown out to the second position. The seconds hand will stop (hacking) — this lets you set the time precisely. Turn the crown to set hours and minutes. If it's after midday, run the hands past 12 once to roll the date over to today.

Step 4

Screw the Crown Home

Push the crown back in and turn it clockwise while pressing gently to screw it back down. Don't force it — if it doesn't catch, back off and try again. The crown must be fully screwed home before any contact with water.

Daily Wear & Care

Power Reserve

The NH35 holds about 41 hours of charge. Worn daily, it'll keep itself wound. If you take it off for a day or two and it stops, give it 20–30 hand winds and it's back to life. No batteries, ever.

Avoid the 9pm – 3am Window

Don't change the date when the hour hand is between roughly 9pm and 3am. The date-change gears are engaging at that point and forcing them can cause damage. Set the time outside that window first.

Magnetism

Mechanical movements can be magnetised by laptops, phone cases with magnetic mounts, speakers and induction cooktops. If your watch suddenly runs fast, it likely needs demagnetising — any watchmaker can do this in minutes.

Water Contact

The Apex Hunter is rated to 200m and is designed to be worn in the water. The Cordeaux is rated to 3 ATM (30m) — splash and rain resistant only, not for swimming or showering. Always confirm the crown is fully screwed home before water contact, on either watch.

Cleaning

Rinse the Apex Hunter in fresh water after any contact with salt, sand, or chlorine, then dry with a soft cloth. The bracelet can be cleaned with mild soap and a soft brush. Avoid solvents, alcohol, or ultrasonic cleaners at home — they can damage gaskets and finishes.

The Cordeaux's Acrylic Crystal

The Cordeaux uses a domed acrylic crystal. Acrylic has a beautiful warm dome and is virtually impossible to shatter — but it can pick up surface scratches. Light scratches polish out at home with a small amount of PolyWatch and a soft cloth in under a minute. It's part of the charm.

Warranty

Backed by Australian Consumer Law.

Every Hunter Time Co watch comes with the consumer guarantees that apply under Australian Consumer Law — these can't be excluded. If a watch fails to meet a consumer guarantee due to a manufacturing fault, you're entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, or to have the fault remedied within a reasonable time for a minor failure.

What's Covered

Manufacturing defects in the movement, case, dial or factory-fitted components. If your watch fails to perform as it should under normal wear and care, we'll arrange a replacement or refund in line with your statutory rights under the ACL.

What's Not Covered

Normal wear and tear — scratches and patina on the case, crystal or bracelet. Damage from accidental impact, drops, or unauthorised modification. Water damage caused by exceeding the watch's rated water resistance, or by submerging the watch with the crown unscrewed. Always screw the crown fully home before any contact with water.

How to Claim

Email huntertimeco@gmail.com with your order number and a short description (or photo) of the issue. We'll reply within one business day and walk you through next steps. Replacement watches are made to order, so allow standard production time.

Servicing

Serviceable by any watchmaker.

Both the Apex Hunter and The Cordeaux use the Seiko NH35 automatic — one of the most widely serviced movements in the world. Parts are readily available and the calibre is well known to virtually any qualified watchmaker or jeweller. We don't currently offer in-house servicing, so when the time comes, take your watch to a local specialist of your choice.

Why the NH35

It's a workhorse — robust, accurate enough at +/- 20 seconds per day, hand-windable and hackable, with a 41-hour power reserve. Most importantly: any watchmaker can service it. No proprietary tooling. No factory bottlenecks.

Recommended Service Intervals

Full service: every 5–7 years for a watch in regular daily use. Pressure / gasket re-seal: every 1–2 years for the Apex Hunter if you swim or dive with it. Inspection only: a quick check every couple of years can flag issues early.

Finding a Watchmaker

Most jewellers in any Australian capital city will service an NH35. For quality work, look for a watchmaker accredited by the Watch & Clockmakers of Australia (WCA), or ask any specialist watch boutique who they recommend locally.

No Batteries, No Shortcuts

None of our watches use batteries — they're powered by the motion of your wrist. If yours stops on a still day, give the crown 20–30 winds and it'll come back to life. Just remember to screw the crown fully back home before any contact with water.
